I had this show up on the scoresheet: Ferrell k - DeShong S - Almada S, 12 - Lewis S, 23, 12 - Stone G1/dp - Travis S, 3H, 2H, 13 - Myer F8.
Stone did not hit into a double play; he hit it to the pitcher who forced the runner on 3rd at home, but Stone was safe on 1st. Travis then singled in the runners on 3rd and 2nd before Myer flew out to center. Had Stone hit into a double play, that would have been 3 outs and no runs would have scored because Travis would not have come to bat.
Please post scoresheet errors so that Dave can see them.

Rocket,
I have documented and submitted to Dave a number of scoresheet errors. Several were fixed in the June 4 update, but there are still quite a few, most of which are minor, but some are pretty significant. I researched this very thoroughly by manually scoring each game and comparing the results of each play with the APC scoresheet.
The one you encountered is very common and in fact I believe it occurs anytime there is a runner on third (other runners may be on - it doesn’t matter) and there is a ground ball to any infielder and you elect to throw home. If they get the out, the scoresheet will always code it with “/dp” attached, does not show who made the putout (presumably the catcher) and nothing about the other runners. I have not personally ever seen it coded correctly for this type of play.
Most of the significant errors are associated with runner advancement prompts. Some are simple and easy to figure out, others you can’t figure out what really happened (who scored, where runners wound up). These are the ones I have the most problems with because you can’t figure out what really happened from the score sheet. I have also had incorrect coding occur in base running situations not involving prompts. And then there are the simple ones that are hardly worth mentioning like the first batter of the game grounding out third to first with the coding G5. I would venture to guess that any game which has a lot of base running and in particular advancement prompts will have at least one or two scoresheet errors. Overall I would say that at least 60 and maybe as high as 75 percent of all games will have at least one scoresheet error.
So if there are errors in the scoresheets WHAT ABOUT THE STATS? Are they affected? I HAVE NOT DETECTED ANY ERRORS IN THE OFFENSIVE STATS - THEY ALL APPEAR ACCURATE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE SCORESHEET SHOWS. In a few rare situations and I mean rare, I have found an error in the defensive stats, e.g., a putout or an assist credited to the wrong player. While I do not consider those to be a really serious errors, nonetheless they are errors .
I have two more things to mention here:
1. The Play by Play sometimes does not agree with the scoresheet. This does not occur often, but it does happen. BTW, the result of the play, say an out, base runner advancement and so on are correct. A simple example is no outs, runner on first and a failed sacrifice bunt. The PBP says the catcher fielded the bunt and threw the runner out at second and scoresheet says B54/fo,B1. In this particular example, the box score showed the catcher with the assist.
2. This is very minor, but has anyone noticed that the LOB stats in the box score are often incorrect. To me this would be a very low priority as far as fixing, but it does occur with great regularity.
AND ONE FINAL NOTE: Dave and his team were very responsive in addressing some of the scoresheet errors I submitted in March and April and got them into the June 4 release and that was really appreciated. I would like to see more corrections in the near future and hopefully they’ll have time to address them.
Cheers,
Larry

I also have noticed the LOB errors in some boxscores. Rather than the scoresheet, I would like to see a game log much like Diamond Mind has.
I also noticed the other day that a successful double steal didn’t list the trailing runner with a stolen base in the boxscore but DID include it properly in the player’s season stats, including the game log. I agree that these are minor errors and I’m confident that they will be fixed at some point.
